MIX Marketplace
MIX Marketplace is a downtown Ypsilanti, Michigan, indoor market held Friday Evenings from 5pm – 9pm and Saturday from noon- 5 PM, offering a mix of foods, handmade goods, vintage and antique wares.
There is often live music and local food stars, Bona Sera, serve extraordinary food on the last weekend of every month.
MIX Marketplace is the brainchild of two couples who are business partners, Bonnie and Ed Penet, and Leslie and Markel Leland, the same folks who also own and run MIX, a retail store across the street from MIX Marketplace in downtown Ypsilanti, Michigan.
MIX, the retail store, lives up to it’s name by offering an eclectic and carefully chosen artistically chic mix of new and gently-used women’s clothing, accessories, gifts, art, furniture, and household goods.

Likes it’s companion store MIX, what you’ll find right across the street at MIX Marketplace (200 W. Michigan Ave) is a also a mix! Mix marketplace showcases the wares and products of a collection of local entrepreneurs who offer a wide variety of artisan, gourmet, and locally produced foods, handmade goods, and vintage and antique merchandise in this Tuesday and Saturday “farmer’s market” type setting, held comfortably indoors.
The Ugly Mug Cafe runs the coffee bar each Saturday, brewing coffee, offering sodas and other delicious drinks.

I have yet to make it over to Mix Marketplace, but count me in as I just heard a rumor that two of my favorite people will be preparing and serving food starting this Saturday. Bona Sera will definitely add to the Mix!

Any new information on the possibility of a cheese shop in Ypsi?? I’m an EMU student so I drive through downtown Ypsi a few times a week and would LOVE to be able to stop real quick and pick up some yummy cheese

YES! There will be a whole food market/ deli and cheese will definitely be one of the things sold, but it will be about 3-6 months before it will all be developed.
